Early in my post I mentioned not only reading books, but magazines, blogs etc. I didn't mean to imply that if you were't reading a book, you aren't a 'reader'. In my last paragraph I meant to say that a reader, in my opinion, is someone who chooses to read, whether it be books, blogs, magazines and enjoys it on a regular basis.
