TEASER TUESDAYS asks you to:
- Grab your current read
- Let the book fall open to a random page
- Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
- Share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given.
- Please avoid spoilers!
"Rob signed a written confession," the headmaster explains. "This will be presented on Friday in lieu of testimony or the need to view the tape inself." ~ page 152
I heard so much about this book when it first came out and I've been looking forward to reading it ever since. This is my first Shreve book, however, I also have ALL HE EVER WANTED and plan to read it soon. I only started TESTIMONY Saturday night, but it grabbed me from the very beginning with its staccato-like writing. The author doesn't waste time getting right into the story. I hope you enjoy my teaser sentences.
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly event hosted by MizzB at Should Be Reading.
Hello everyone! Apparently Blogger is having issues AGAIN today. It won't let me put the bookcover image on my post. I'm sure you've all seen, but I like to include it in my post. I can't tell you how frustrated I've been lately with Blogger. I'm done complaining now! Anyway, I hope you enjoy my teasers!
ReplyDeleteI read this a few months ago. Gripping story.
ReplyDeleteI haven't had the issues you're experiencing on Blogger lately but I'll be on the watch for them. Not sure what's up with that. Good luck!
I have not read anything by Anita Shreve but I have been wanting to read this one after reading some great reviews.
ReplyDeleteI was on a serious Anita Shreve kick a couple winters ago where I read eveyting of her's I could get my hands on! Eden Close, The Weight of Water and Resistance are excellent reads; haven't gotten around to Testimony yet, but I hope to soon...enjoy!
ReplyDeleteIt's been awhile since I read a Shreve book. This sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteI'm ashamed to say I have read any Shreve books yet but they are on my TBR list. Good teaser.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I love Wordpress.
I really enjoy Anita Shreve and I do have this one but just haven't gotten to it yet. The Pilot's Wife and Sea Glass are probably my favorites. Thanks for the teaser!
ReplyDeleteRecently I read The Pilot's Wife and am in the midst of All That He Ever Wanted.
ReplyDeleteHere is my post!
The only Shreve book I read was "Weight of Water" and I did not really like it that much. The way in which she told the stories was a bit herky jerky and her focus was not on the parts that interested me the most. I did enjoy her descriptive style though. "The Last Time They Met" is another of her novels that features the same Thomas character so if you like this one you may want to read that one too.
ReplyDeleteI read this one a few months ago, very intense story. I've had a few issues at times getting pics to upload but eventually they do.
ReplyDeletehmmmm, seems like there's something wrong with the "in lieu of" part...

I've been thinking of putting this on my TBR list for this year. It would be my first Anita Shreve book. I've seen mixed reviews, but it sounds intriguing. Nice teasers.
ReplyDeleteHmmm - I read a bunch of wonderful reviews not too long ago. I hope you are enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Teaser! ~ Wendi
I just adore Shreve's books. I can't wait to see your review. Another Shreve book you should read is The Last Time They Met and The Pilot's Wife...both fantastic novels...Don't forget Sea Glass as well.
ReplyDeleteI popped on over from Diary of an Eccentric and she's always raving about your posts. So here I am following you!
