My name is Lisa. I live in Central Florida. I wasn't born in the South but I've lived here for over 30 years. I started this blog in January of 2008 under the name Books and Cooks. I chose that name because it represented two of my passions.. I didn't know what it would turn into but I wanted to share my love of books and cooking with the world. I had no idea what it would turn into, but fortunately, I was welcomed into a family of wonderful bloggers who accepted me and my thoughts without question. Though the blogging world has expanded drastically, I still maintain many of those friendships today. It has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I changed the name of the blog to Southern Girl Reads in 2012 because it reflects more my love for Southern Fiction. I'm not the most tech savvy person so my blog isn't flashy like a lot of them out there, but that isn't my personality anyway. I hope you enjoy reading my bookish thoughts and will visit me often.
Note to Authors, Agents and Publishers:
(Revised June 2014)
I am accepting books for review here at Southern Girl Reads, with these understandings:
Due to a deteriorating eye condition, I prefer to receive digital copies as I can control the font and contrast of the pages. Though printed copies are still accepted, it may take me longer to read them, so bear that in mind when sending me requests.
Please note that when I receive advanced or review copies, it is with the understanding that I will write an honest, thoughtful review based on my opinion of the book. By accepting your book, it does NOT guarantee a favorable review. Also, although I give priority attention to ARC's, I cannot guarantee a specific date that the book will be featured on the blog. Reading and writing about books is a hobby that I enjoy and I do so without compensation from publishers and authors. Contact me at email@example.com for additional information.
Please do let me know if you’re available and I’ll send over a ebook file:ReplyDelete

During the women’s journey together, they not only experience a variety of entertaining and heart-warming ups and downs, they also have moments of self-discovery (and bonding with the dogs, too).
